What we Believe. here

 

I'm new here, what should I expect when I arrive at Access?

When you arrive, grab a freshly brewed coffee or hot tea from our hospitality table and spend a few moments getting to know people around you. Find a seat wherever you feel comfortable. .

 

What denomination is Access affiliated with?

Access is an Evangelcial Covenant Church. This means that we emphasize the tangible practices of following Jesus, rather than debates over doctrine or particular ways of "doing" church. Learn more about the Evangelical Covenant Church here.

 

What time does your Sunday worship service begin?

We have one worship service each Sunday, held at Mt. Scott Community Center. Doors open at 9:30AM and service begins at 10:00AM.

 

How do I get to Access?

Access is located 5530 SE 72nd Ave Portland, OR where we currently meeting at Mt Scott Community Center. For a map and directions please click here.

 

Where should I park?

Parking is located in front of our building; Signs will steer you there.

 

How long does the service last?

Church service last from 70 - 80 minutes.

 

If I don't have a Bible to bring, is there one I could use?

There are two ways we can help you with this. We can lend you one or if you have a smart phone or tablet you can download a free Bible app here.

 

 

WORSHIP SERVICE

 

What should I wear to Access?

Come as you are. We care about you - not what you wear. 

 

Where should I sit when I arrive?

Sit anywhere you like, there are no assigned seats.

 

Do I have to partake in the offering time?

We are not after your money. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the visit with NO obligation to give, but you are more than welcome to participate.

 

Can a visitor take communion?

Yes! We take communion every week as a tangible sign that we have given our lives to Jesus. We break off a piece of bread, dip it in the cup, and eat it. Anyone who puts their faith in Jesus is welcome to recieve, whether they are a church member or not.

 

 

MINISTRIES

 

What is available for my kids?

Kids are important to Access. We have a wonderful Children's Ministry that provides a safe environement where kids can learn about Jesus through bible lessons, games, crafts, while enjoying some snacks. We also have a section for toddlers three and younger located in our main building.

 

What will the music experience be like for me?

Our music is led by a live team. The songs we sing are in contemporary in style, but range from ancient hymns, latin beats to the latest choruses and everything in between. We hope you enjoy the quality and passion of our worship team. Find out more about this worship ministry here.

 

Does Access have small groups?

Yes, Access has small groups that meet weekly. They are an excellent way to grow, laugh and connect with great people. We invite you to attend one of them, once they pick up again in the Fall. You can find a group and learn more about them here.

 

If I need prayer, how can I get a hold of someone to pray with me?

We are a church that believes in the power of prayer. Every request we recieve is followed up personally by a member of our team. Submit your prayer request and allow us to stand with you, beleiving for a breakthrough in your situation. Share with us your prayer request here.

 

How can I also get involved at Access?

Glad you asked, here at Access there are many ways you can serve. Choosing to step out in faith and follow Jesus can and will change your life. You sure can! If you are unable to attend a Sunday, you don't have to miss-out, we also upload our weekly messages right here on our homepage or you can listen to any of our Sunday messages on our soundcloud here.

How do I find out what's happening around Access?

You can view our calendar page here online here. You can also pick up one of our bulletins that will inform you all that is happening at Access. During service we will take time durnig our announcements to inform you all that is happening at Access.

 

How do I let Access know I am a first time visitor?

In our bulletines we include a connection card. This is our way to communicate with you and you with us. You can complete as much information as you feel comfortable with and turn it in when the offering bascuits are passed around.
